Sika is a fabulous artist. He is very quiet and soft spoken. He personally trains each of his helpers; his quality and attention to detail is amazing in all his artwork. Often when we went to Sika’s home/workshop to discuss designs, he was a mile away working in his family’s rice fields. He would soon arrive all smiles ready to jump into our art project and create the masterpieces we are now enjoying. |

Panca is serious, but always has a warm heart. He lives about a half an hour drive from Ubud. He specializes in our geometric designs. We met his brother first in Ubud who has a wild modern art Gallery in the center of town. He told us about his talented brother, who he called promptly. Panca came over on his motor scooter right away to meet us. He made our very first Doorway Proto type. It was perfect the first try. |

Kedek radiates aliveness and intelligence instantly. She is the epitome of a changing Asian culture due to western influences. Kedek is a mother of 2, and is a modern woman in all ways. She blends traditional mothering with an entrepreneurial spirit. She owns a high-end retail store in the center of Ubud and an extremely modern and well-run small factory on the edge of town. Kedek is bright; warm hearted, and a savvy business owner. We went to her factory one time around lunch and all her women seamstress were stretched out on mats on the floor taking a mid day nap. The feeling was so precious, this blending east with west. |

Wayan Is our Agent in Bali. He is our eyes, ears, mouth, legs, hands, and heart on the ground. He organizes all the orders, arranges the shipping, warehouses the inventory, supervises the quality control checks and communicates via email, phone, and fax to coordinate everything with us. He touches every item with his hands at least twice. In Bali, Wayan is a common name. Heather with her endless creativity dubbed Wayan agent 007 one day and he loved it. He is extremely caring and proud to be facilitating so much beneficial employment for his fellow Balinese people. |

Wayan Murda is the heart and sole of our Bali enterprise. He told us, we must first journey to the sacred temple at the headwaters of the river to pray for the success of our business for all beings involved. So off we went to the sacred pools fed by the fresh spring waters from the heart of the mountain. Giving Thanks in the traditional Bali way.
Wayan introduced us to Sika his cousin. Wayan works with Sika to produce many of Sika’s designs and he has a small batik factory in his home compound too. His family has been living on the same land for 5 generations. |
